audio music system

The temple had only pujari and 4 middle aged ladies singing bhajans and a security guard outside. The shopping malls and grocery stores had better footfalls.

Vivek
One person in orange jacket came forth and asked what we wanted and showed us the location and disappeared. We left staring at the knob and after some frantic waving another orange jacketer came along. We do not know much about system so asked him the difference and he muttered something. We read the stickers on the system and they were more informative. We asked him for best price and he never went down the MRP for a sony system.

Griha Vaibhav
We were taken in by someone who said the DVD player in front played only VCD and then we showed him on the panel that it was DVD. He was quoting 19 K for a piece we found was worth about 16K. Finally an expert arrived who fiddled with CD and played them at full volume for us. He was funny in his accent and therefore we sticked around for more than we would. We started asking about best price and he brought in the cash vs card tussle but even he gave 1000 off on cash payment for Sony system.

Sony
The guy was pleasing but not so knowledgeable and for all price enquiry he was going to manager. The manager was giving about 400 off and that was final and his manager tried to play on our observation saying the price quote at previous location was for a product that did not had USB, he recommended us to buy from that location.

fourth block BDA shopping complex
My wife went to the complex where she had to buy something and remembered that it was karva chauth and bought a whole different array of items that were unplanned for. Meanwhile we went to the car to rest.

ezone
The guy could not take the chord to the power switch and thus could not play the CD and we said okay play it in the nearest system to the power plug. They had a offer saying if you find lower price we would give double the difference. I had found a lower price in the day and thought it was the right opportunity to avail it. The manager explained that we need to get the quotation from the shop and not the receipt and they will give pantaloon gift vouchers for the price difference.
they also had free return ticket offer and I enquired about same and they showed me the voucher and that said we need to give a demand draft of 2950 per return ticket or whichever is higher and asked them this point and they could not clarify.

Girias
The guy struggled to play the CD because another person was showcasing to customer and the offer with worldspace was good for phillips system but sony again had stiffened against dealer discount that was around 3 %.

kamat
My wife suggested north karnataka food and we were the only one the restaurant and saw them putting the afternoon rice into hot water vessel to warm as they gathered their resources to server their first dinner customers.

roadside exhition
My wife bought some doormat/bed mat being sold per kg at roadside.

spar

Our budget was about Rs 500 and we had a list of grocery items to purchase on a Sunday evening. We moved out in Maruti Swift. The nearest retail outlet was closed as it was Id. We skipped the local grocery store as wife suggested to try Nilgiri's at Bannerghatta road. Therefore we skipped two Fabmalls and a Foodworld which were closer to home and kept driving towards Nilgiri's. Luckily there was parking available for only a single car but wife suggested lets try Spar, a recently opened hypermart somewhere close to Sagar Apollo hospital. I felt bad for missing a parking lot but went ahead in search of hypermart.. We crossed Apollo junction and I was not sure it would come in right or left so was going slow in center of the road. Suddenly I saw it on right of the road and the road was mysteriously cut through the divider, a right turn risking the oncoming rush of traffic. I took the challenge from oncoming traffic as vehicles kept going past me in whatever small gap was there in front of the car and we finally managed to cross the road and enter Spar premises.
The parking was not available so we ket waiting for a while. I asked the rest of family to go ahead and explore as I could see the excitement in eyes of my wife and she was waiting for an opportunity to just get out of car and get in the hypermart. I was told a lift would come and pick the car and park it somewhere but luckily all that was avoided as a space was generated there.
I called up my wife once inside and found her in nearby aisle. It was a pain going through the items as she was checking on the price and availability. There were few items like Complan and 1 kg ParleG packet and 1 KG Tide that she could not locate and thus the task was delegated to me. I asked around and the first two were not available and we compromised on the variety of the Tide.
There were few puja items and kids toys that we had not initially planned to buy. The bill came to about Rs.2000. The counter clerk was from Orissa as he was looking here and there and confirming items and seems to be unaffected by the queue building up. I came to the other side and tried to give suggestions as we had problems finding khova and bill it for 500 gms instead of a kg otherwise I would lose Rs 5o more. Finally after a long while as system was not allowing option he managed to delete the line and struggled with the bar code sticked on khova pack and managed to straighten it and the reader could understand and people in queue shook their heads as I smiled at their waiting.
We had reached there are 6:30 PM and came out at about 9:00. Did I say that we spent a while checking out the music system. We made the poor guy made us explain the feature that he was not well versed with. I dont know how much the feature would have helped us make a decision as we we were inclined for a Sony and what we were getting in return was only a sawariya audio CD. We left deciding to check out at few more shops.
We came to the spot where we had to choose between Janani and Nandini restaurant and my four year old was very clear on that it would be Nandini only even though we found parking near Janani. The waiter was scared that I would share the unlimited meal with my wife who was anyway fasting but I clarified the additional plate would be required to put some rice in the four year's old plate and they were really generous to put quite a lot.
Generally the four year old would sleep while returning but there was a new cooking set and I was asked to open it as I navigated through the extensive packing and ultimately ripped in about half an hour and she kept playing even after we went to sleep.
